Arabidopsis halleri

Arabidopsis halleri is a close relative of the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana, differing in at least two important ways.  First, unlike A. thaliana, A. haleri is self-incompatible.  Second, it is a heavy metal hyperaccumulator, especially for cadmium and zinc.  Its broad European and Asian distribution also makes A. halleri a useful model for ecological genomics studies…
